Florcy Morisset is an award winning cultural arts ambassador, rooted in the creative arts community, who is committed to celebrating diverse art and creating access! As a firebrand, Florcy works at the intersection of the commercial art world, cultural art and philanthropy. She leads as an arts champion, thought leader, and staunch advocate, donning the fluidity of several titles: art curator, businesswoman, lifestyle connoisseur, and community servant.
In 2007, in the midst of a national recession, Florcy debuted Vivant Art Collection on Gallery Row in the heart of Philadelphia’s Historic District of Old City. Inspired by her passion for Haiti, she opened an art gallery despite not having a traditional art or business background. Her drive and ambition to tell cultural stories propelled her into the art world. From those modest beginnings, the gallery has expanded its reach to move online, celebrating underrepresented art from Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America, while never losing its niche of highlighting Haitian art. Vivant’s art is vibrant, rich, bold, and embedded with story and history that highlights the lives of people of color throughout the diaspora.
Vivant’s mission is to educate, enlighten, entertain and empower with the legacy and messages of indigenous art, art makers, and the cultures that gave birth to them. Florcy built Vivant to be a social epicenter, amassing a vast network of artists, political figures, and art collectors. Vivant bridged the art world and the community by hosting social receptions, film screenings, charitable fundraisers, and art making sessions. Some of her popular curatorial projects were “The Illustrated Sounds of Philadelphia,” – A Tribute to Past & Present Philadelphia Musical Icons, “Transcending History - Moving Beyond the Legacy of Slavery and the Holocaust,” and “Haiti: A Tribute in Art.” In Vivant’s successful tenure, Vivant has transcended the status of a gallery and grown into an online arts destination.
Florcy has broadened her scope and services to respond to the specialized needs of art organizations, academic institutions and professionals by creating Vivant Consulting. With over a decade of event production and artist management experience, Vivant curates exhibitions, creates cultural programs and crafts strategic marketing strategies that brings diverse communities together, fuse strategic partnership and targets media outreach.
